Juvéderm® is a dermal filler designed to restore volume to your skin. We use it to correct nasolabial folds and other age-related concerns such as moderate to severe wrinkles. Juvéderm is made with hyaluronic acid, a natural component of your body’s connective tissue. By restoring hyaluronic acid to your tissue, those unwanted smile lines and parentheses will disappear. Juvéderm is FDA approved for treating facial wrinkles and folds. Therefore, Dr. Hunsicker, Dr. Nguyen or Kim may recommend it for the treatment of:
- Thin or wrinkled lips
- Marionette lines
- Nasolabial folds
- Prejowl area
Men and women of all skin types can safely undergo treatment with Juvéderm
How We Perform Juvéderm Treatment
Before your Juvéderm treatment, you will meet with Dr. Hunsicker, Dr. Nguyen or Kim to discuss your goals. An allergy test won’t be needed prior to treatment, because the gel is made with bio-compatible ingredients. During treatment, our provider injects the Juvéderm into specific areas of the face in a short outpatient procedure. The injections only take about 30 minutes or so, depending on how many areas you want treated. Juvéderm XC is formulated with lidocaine, which is a numbing agent. This makes the injections more comfortable, and usually eliminates the need for a topical numbing cream. After your injections, our provider will briefly massage your face to make sure that the gel is evenly distributed.
