What about immediate reconstruction?

Both surgeons will perform their part of the treatment. The cancer doctor will perform the mastectomy, removing the tissues that are cancerous. Then, the plastic surgeon will perform the reconstruction immediately after, inserting implants if chosen for augmentation. This reduces downtime and cost for the patient and allows them to heal once instead of twice with separate surgeries.
