Techniques in Microdermabrasion
Most microdermabrasion treatments perform a thorough exfoliation of the facial skin. During microdermabrasion, you will lie down comfortably and an aesthetician applies a special handpiece that gently blows crystals onto the skin, and then removes them with suction. Without significantly damaging the tissue, these tiny aluminum oxide crystals gently remove the dead, dull outer skin cells.
Multiple passes are made over problem areas that need greater improvement. For a more aggressive treatment, the aesthetician can also adjust the amount of suction. If you have sensitive skin, or if you're new to microdermabrasion, mild suction can be used.
